Refugee Rock was a music event to raise money for shelter, food and aid for homeless migrants and refugees in Calais and Northern France.
It took place at the Borderline on Sunday 1st November 2015. The Wedding present, USA Nails, Mower, Mothlite, Twin Graves and Scandinavia took to the stage and all money raised - on our fundraising page and from ticket sales - was be donated to Worldwide Tribe in Calais.
Worldwide Tribe in Calais have pioneered a campaign in the UK to raise money to provide people in the 'Jungle' with basic needs (food, shelter, aid) that they're currently unable to provide for themselves because they're prevented from working in the EU. The team at Worldwide Tribe in Calais have also spent a significant amount of time in the 'Jungle' with the refugees, delivering resources and learning more about the people who are staying there.
Jaz O'Hara, who has led the Worldwide Tribe in Calais effort, spoke at Refugee Rock about her experiences in the 'Jungle' and how Worldwide Tribe in Calais are spending the money they've raised.
